We start our Pawnbroker Associates at effectively $13.25 per hour* (which includes $3.00/hr commission), and aggressively promote our top producers (we do performance reviews on a quarterly basis, so everyone gets 4 pay raises per year). We also offer
health insurance after 3 months, 10% employee discount on purchases, recruiting bonuses, customer referral bonuses (during
income tax season), a holiday bonus every December (depending on how profitable the company has been that
fiscal year), and after 90 days, all employees enjoy memo privilege*.
We have a great schedule:

4-day work week … 9.5 to 10 hour shifts,
averaging 39-40 hrs/wk

Convenient hours (8:30am-6:30pm) - no early morning
or late night shifts

Open Monday through Saturday only … never open on
Sundays
Two (2) locations to choose from (one on either side of town).

* Memo Privilege is extended to all employees after completing their 90-day Probationary Period. We let you borrow used merchandise (that is out-for-sale in our inventory) rent-free, for 30 days. This program has been very popular, allowing employees to “sign out” the following types of merchandise; DVD movies, CD’s, video games & game systems, tools, guitars, electronics, fishing gear, sporting goods, and even jewelry. They rarely purchase anything while working for us, because they can just borrow it, use it for a few weeks, then return it. NOTE: And we can still sell it for full price after they return it because it was used to start with (and their having borrowed it for 30 days doesn’t de-value it anymore).
Qualified applicants must be:
-
at least 18 years of age
-
physically fit (there is frequent light-to-moderate
lifting)
-
reasonably computer literate
-
possess decent math skills
-
have a High School Diploma (or their GED)
-
and have no Felonies or theft-related misdemeanors
in the last 5 years (a background check will be performed)

EARNINGS POTENTIAL: Base pay is $10.00 per hour during training period (first 30 days).
After the initial training period, the employee is eligible for the $3.00/hour
Employee Commission.
You are also eligible for your first Performance Review at the 90-day mark (which averages $0.25/hour). So with your raise in base pay, and the full $3.00/hour commission … the average employee makes about $13.25 at the end of their Probationary Period. With three more quarterly raises in base pay (@ $0.25/hr ea.), the average employee makes $11.00/hr in base pay and $3.00/hr in commissions, for a total of $14.00/hr by the end of their 1st year.
Exceptional employees average higher pay raises (~$1.25/hr
total in 1st year), and higher commissions (~$3.75/hr). Hence, the higher
target of $15.00 per hour by the end of the 1st year.
In addition to regular earnings, all employees receive an Annual Bonus in December. This bonus can range from $100 – 1000 and is basically a factor of three things:

How many hours you worked in the last 12 months
-
What your average productivity was over the last 12
months
-
How profitable the company was over the last 12
months
This annual bonus, coupled with a $500 Recruiting Reward or two, and anywhere from $250 to $750 in Fast Tax customer referral bonuses could easily yield a total of $2,000+ per year in extra bonuses. This effectively adds another $1.00/hr to your earnings bringing your total earnings power to about $16.00/hr, by the end of your 1st year.
