Would you like to earn up to $11.00-15.00 per hour, working 3-4 days/week, and get paid commission & bonuses for working harder & smarter? Then come explore the job opportunities at DAN’S PAWN. We start everyone out as a part-time Pawnbroker Associate, earning a base wage of $10.00 per hour. And we do performance reviews on a quarterly basis, so everyone gets 4 pay raises per year (note: these pay raises are enhanced during the first year). So part-timers could earn up to $11.00 per hour by the end of their first year. We have 2 days/wk, and 3 days/wk PT positions that yield 20-35 hours per week.

But if you get elevated to Full-Time status, or you are assigned to work the Sales Floor/Loan Counter then you become eligible to earn commissions (on top of your base pay). These employee commissions range from $1.50-$4.00 per hour (averaging around $3.00/hr for experienced team members). So effectively you could earn $11.00 in base pay & $4.00/hr in commissions by the end of your first year with us (effectively $15.00 per hour).

We also offer $500 recruiting/referral bonuses, a 10% employee discount on purchases, an Annual Bonus in December, and Health Insurance after 3 months (to our full-timers). Of course, the special benefit that few employers can match; Merchandise Borrowing*.

Merchandise Borrowing (better known as “Memo Privilege”) is extended to all employees after completing their 90-day Probationary Period. We let you borrow used merchandise (that is out-for-sale in our inventory) basically rent-free for 30 days. This program has been very popular, allowing employees to “sign out” the following types of merchandise; DVD movies, CD’s, video games & game systems, tools, guitars, electronics, fishing gear, sporting goods, and even jewelry. They rarely purchase anything while working for us, because they can just borrow it, use it for a few weeks, then return it. And we can still sell it for full price after they return it. It was “used” to start with, and their having borrowed it for 30 days didn’t de-value it.

We have great scheduling opportunities, for both part-timers & full-timers;

Generally speaking, everyone works 9½ to 10 hour shifts

• Start Time every day is 8:15-8:30am, and shifts end at 6:15-6:30pm

• These are convenient hours, no early morning or late night shifts

• So our part-timers will work either 2 or 3 days per week (20-30 hrs/wk)

• And our Full-Timers work a 4-day work week (averaging 40 hrs/wk)

• And we’re open Monday through Saturday only … never open on Sundays

Qualified applicants must be:

• at least 18 years of age

• physically fit (there is frequent light-to-moderate lifting required)

• reasonably computer literate

• possess decent math skills

• have at least a High School Diploma (or GED)

  • although many of our employees have some college, and/or degrees
     

• no Felonies or theft-related misdemeanors in the last 5 years

  • background check will be performed at local, state & national level

  • this will include Guilty, No-Contest, and Adjudication Withheld
     

• drug-free

  • we are a drug-free workplace, so our policy includes drug-testing

Retail experience is a plus, but not required. We hire based on talent. If you have personal integrity, a cheerful disposition, and good customer service skills; we can train.
